From Doris Day fan to host of the DORIS DAY HOUR heard world-wide!

Mary Anne Barothy’s amazing odyssey

DayataTimeMy life has been full of many special events for which I am very grateful. As I tell my audiences when I give my Doris Day talk A DAY TO REMEMBER…DORIS DAY, I was a star-struck teen who ended up in Doris Day’s home as her personal assistant. Sounds like something that only happens in the movies, right?

As a result of my eagerness to share my “dream job” story with others who share my love for this wonderful lady, I had the pleasure of meeting  Diane Thomas in Baltimore who had a connection with Keith Angstadt, VP and Director of Programming and Engineering with Baltimore Net Radio, an international internet radio station. Keith was expanding his radio line-up and asked me and my friend, Diane, to be a part of his team.

Diane, with her technical expertise and music savvy, has hosted A VISIT WITH CONNIE FRANCIS for the past five plus years in addition to coordinating all our special shows and now hosting another show. I have worked as the PR person for the station from the start. Some of the luminaries I have spoken to for our special tribute shows are Larry King, Connie Francis, Mother Dolores Hart, Janis Paige, Rosemarie, Pat Boone, Johnny Mathis and Brenda Lee.

This summer Keith asked me to host THE DORIS DAY HOUR, a monthly show heard on the 2nd Thursday of every month with encores through that week. The next upcoming show will air Thursday, October 9th at 3:00pm (EST-New York time) with encores. I look forward to taking you on a sentimental journey, bringing you Doris Day’s beautiful music and sharing some candid and original stories.

Be sure to check out our website for all the great music from the ’40s, ’50s, ’60’s, ’70s and some ’80s and special shows. They include Misty Moments with Johnny Mathis and a variety of other “In The Spotlight” specials featuring Vikki Carr, Patsy Cline, Patti Page, Les Reed, Jody  Miller and The Connie Channel which we offer on:  mybnr.com.

Wonders never cease and I am very happy to be a small part of this  wonderful team at Baltimore Net Radio.
