The Bedspread – Just like Doris Day!

Doris Day lived in  a lovely home at 713 North Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills, California.  She had a large bedroom with full length windows facing her beautiful back yard with swimming pool. Her bedroom had lovely white wicker furniture: headboard, desk next to her bed, comfortable chaise lounge, tall standing lamp, all sparkling white wicker!  It was where Doris and her four legged “kids” spent a lot of time.

Under the numerous terry cloth towels put there because of several canines who sprawled out on the bed,  was a lovely floral, spring like cotton bedspread  with white fringe.    It was bright and cheery and looked like Doris. Another plus, it was easy to clean. We could just toss it in the washer!

I had no idea where she found that floral bedspread and always admired it. Lucky for me one day while shopping at Livingstone’s Department Store in Beverly Hills, I noticed that very same print bedspread at a price I could afford!  Guess what?  I bought it.  And to this day, I still use it on my bed here in Indianapolis during the summer…brings back memories from my wonderful days with Doris Day! I so enjoyed being her secretary for four years and living in her house to meet her friends, some celebrities and some not, and being a part of the life of this genuine and charming gal who also happened to be America’s sweetheart of a movie star.

You can read about that life I led during my days with Doris in my book Day at a Time: An Indiana Girl’s Sentimental Journey to Doris Day’s Hollywood and Beyond. Just flip back to the website and order.
